Mikata School Festival
Every year Mikata Highschool has a school festival in early September before the start of the second term. The School festival is three days and includes many activities including a chorus contest in which all the classes in the school participate. The final day is the sports festival where the students compete against each other in an array of contests ranging from tug-of-war to a relay race. For the school festival the school is divided up into three color groups: Red, blue, and yellow. The teams win points by winning the various competitions and contests. At the end of the day, the scores are tallied up and the winning team gets announced and they can celebrate their victory until next year.
