Message:

Hi! My name is Kim Buyske and I am the new ALT at Mikata High School. I am from the United States of America. I am twenty-seven years old and have many interests.I love to hike, bike, run, and swim.
I also enjoy snowboarding, drawing, and traveling to new places. My favorite sports to play are soccer and volleyball. My favorite professional sports to watch are soccer, baseball, and rugby.
My father's job required us to live in many places in the USA. I was able to live in places such as, Hawaii, California, Colorado, and Wyoming. After I graduated from highschool, I attended the University of Wyoming (UW). I graduated from UW in 2001 with a degree in Structural Engineering. I worked for one year designing buildings in Colorado. I then moved to New Zealand where my twin sister currently lives. I worked as a structural engineer in New Zealand for one and a half years. After this time I decided to teach English in Japan.

Why I wanted to teach English in Japan:
I wanted to teach English in Japan to learn about the Japanese language and culture. I also wanted to pursue a career in teaching.

Message to the Mikata High School students:
I am very excited to meet you all and learn about your interests. I have never lived in Japan before so I am looking foward to learning and experiencing many new things. I am also looking forward to practicing English with you all. Please feel free to speak with me and ask me questions. I hope to get to know you all both inside and outside of the classroom.
