Chorus Concour
We hold a school festival in September. The first day is Chorus Concour. We join it by class.
First, each class decides three executives, a conductor, and an accompanist in the class. They are very important. Second, we decide parts, like Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass, and part leaders. Part leaders lead the part members. Third, the three executives choose some songs. The three executives have the class members listen to these songs. Finally, they decide the song. Then the executives make part classified tapes for the class members practice in ther houses. All class members listen to it.
In August, we start chorus practice. First we practice with our parts. This is very important because if we didn't practice with our parts we couldn't sing well. Next, we sing together with all the members. Finally, we begin practicing the song everyday. We talk about the song and our singing, "What is good or bad?", etc.
In September, we have the school festival. First day is chorus concour. All the homerooms announce their songs. Then the order is drawn. The members of the broadcasting club read the home room introductions. These introductions are the thoughts of the executives. When we stand on the stage, everyone feels tension, but it is very good tension.
The teachers decide the very best from fifteenth to first place. If a class is decided the very best or excellent, then they can sing again. This is called encore performance. My home was decided excellent this year, so we could sing again. It is a very happy thing. The best accompianist and the best conductor are also decided. My homeroom's accompianist was chosen as the best.
Chorus concour is a very necessary event for the homerooms. I like chorus concour very much.
