Freshmen Seminar

Freshmen Seminar is held in April as soon as the students enter school. The students stay at "Seishonen shizen no ie" (Youth Nature House) in Tagarasu for two days. The students have some lectures at first. The lectures are about school life, school rules, classes, club, and so on. Next, the students play some games for recreation because they don't know each other well. So they make groups and play the games with their group members. In the night, they do a candle light service. The candle light service is all the students have a candle. Then they pass the goddess' fire to the next person. Finally everyone observes a moment of silence. Stans is a program for the school homerooms. The homerooms do True or False Quizzes. After that, the students read letters from their parents. Then they write a return letter to their parents. The next day, each homeroom does a walk rally and sings the school song. The walk rally is a walk around the forest. The students must also memorize the school song, so there is a chorus contest. Through the Freshmen Seminar the students can get to know each other and make many friends. So, it is a very important first event.
