The three main fields of study are fashion, information and business, and childcare and welfare for the elderly. Students can enhance their expertise through a full range of elective courses and direct lectures from professionals. In addition, students will develop social awareness, independence, and career perspective through various practical training experiences and other activities that connect them with society.

It is the only culinary training facility among prefectural high schools to be named by the Minister of Health, Labor, and Welfare as a place to receive a national chef license. The department trains culinary professionals for future qualifications. The department emphasizes practical training to deepen students’ views and ideas as chefs, and aims to provide students with specialized and advanced knowledge and skills related to menu planning, food preparation, and group meal service.
